Why consider an Emotional Assessment?
Generally administered to children and adolescents, emotional assessments, are designed to capture the child’s emotional world. It is a means to understand the child’s difficulties and concerns and how they see themselves in relation to others.
This also provides them with a space to express positive aspects of their lives and what they feel is going well for them.
The insight gained from an emotional assessment can aid in understanding what emotional needs the child might have as well as providing a platform from which these needs can be addressed. It also allows for insight into the good that they are experiencing and how that can be maintained.
